Welcome to Kaizen
Kaizen Shotokan Karate Club is based in Birmingham and affiliated to the Karate Union of Great Britain (KUGB).

The Meaning of Kaizen
The word Kaizen means continuous improvement, often taking place one small step at a time. The "zen" in Kaizen emphasizes the learn-by-doing aspect of improvement. Kaizen methodology includes making changes and looking at the results, then adjusting.

The Meaning of the Kaizen Logo
The two circles represent the rising sun logo of the Japanese Karate Association (JKA), a symbol that was formerly the logo of the Karate Union of Great Britain (KUGB). The pentagon represents the five instructors that founded, train and teach at the club. Finally, the S.K.C. acronym represents the words Shotokan Karate Club.
